Yarns for belt applications

V-belts – or today V-ribbed belts – are generally flat belts that transfer power. In this context, the quality of the belt is entirely dependent upon the textile reinforcements of the rubber material. MEP-OLBO supplies the high-quality reinforcing materials required to this end. The resultant cord that is manufactured according to the requirements adds vital qualities to the belt. It displays the necessary strength and the constant tension required for the grip so that it can transfer power in an optimum fashion.

Roughly 80 percent of the textile materials we produce for V-belt producers are used in the automotive industry, i.e. in engines. Some 20 percent are attributable to other industry segments, such as mechanical engineering. Other applications include domestic appliances (e.g. washing machines and tumble driers), as well as hand tools.
