In recent years airsprings have become increasingly important in the field of automotive engineering for reasons of comfort and safety and are now also used in passenger cars. They are superior to steel springs in numerous applications, such as auto-levelling in curves. Especially in a laden vehicle, airsprings are highly effective in ensuring that the vehicle remains level.

The bellows of an airspring should ideally have thin walls and simultaneously display a high degree of stability. Yarns from MEP-OLBO with precisely defined properties ensure optimum spring deflection behaviour in the bellows.
